Melody
Associate ProducerMelody is a journalist and multimedia storyteller working across reporting, audio, and documentary formats. Born in China and now based in the United States, her work is shaped by moving between languages, systems, and social expectations. She reports on immigration, gender, labor, and everyday life under political and economic pressure, with a particular interest in people living in uncertainty — from international students navigating visa systems to immigrants and women balancing work, care, and survival.
In addition to written reporting, she produces audio and documentary-style projects grounded in observation, natural sound, and long-form interviews. Her approach combines rigorous reporting with narrative sensitivity, with a strong commitment to accuracy, ethical listening, and portraying people as full, complicated individuals.
